Until the launch of our Business Portal, Monterey County was behind the times with several static sites that were outdated and lacking in its professional presentation. ReadyPortal gave us a push in the right direction. We are now able to coordinate our content publishing efforts among several agencies without hassle or duplication. The platform which offers built-in modular features and site structure has also enabled us to maintain a professional Web presence we can finally be proud of.

The Monterey County Business (MCB) Portal is a public-private partnership that was created to improve communications, consolidate business Web resources, foster job creation, and develop an industry support network. The goal of this Web initiative was to replace several static sites which were not representing Monterey as a business and technology friendly community.
Red Dog Software’s ReadyPortal platform was selected for its:
- Easy to use database driven content management system
- Intuitive framework designed for both technical and non-technical users
- Built-in modular features and site structure
- Inheritance model allowing for sub-portals or sub-sites to be built and managed within an organized infrastructure
Benefits have included:

Launched in July 30, 2005, in sum, the Monterey County Business Portal addressed the region's need to update its web-based information technology, consolidated fragmented information sources, and provided a cost effective way to reach out to local businesses and the world at large.
